Testing & Assessment 

The term Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) refers to the quality of air inside a building or structure. The quality of the air inside the building has a direct impact on the occupant's health and well being, sometimes referred to as "Sick Building Syndrome".

An IAQ Assessment can involve air testing, measurement of comfort parameters, measurement of ventilation rates and interviewing of occupants. The object of these assessment tools is to try to pin down the sources of any  issues that can cause an impact on the air quality, and enable us to offer effective remediation strategies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why do I get headaches when I go into work?


Besides the obvious answer that you dislike or are stressed by your job or boss, there is validity to your concerns if you correlate your symptoms to your place of work. A basic assessment of the comfort parameters may indicate that there is a correctable situation that can easily  be changed. In most cases this will be a little more difficult to assess and an in depth assessment of your IAQ conditions and the ventilation may be required to find the source of the problem.

Q: How much does an IAQ assessment of my house cost?


To attend a house and undertake testing of basic  IAQ parameters can be very inexpensive, but it may not help you very much and will likely not pin point the source of your problem.  Should you retain a consultant always get a clear scope of work and know what you can expect to receive for your  money. Getting a fancy report that tells you the concentrations of CO, CO2 Temperature and Humidity (Basic IAQ Parameters), may not help you.
