Occupational or Industrial Hygiene is the science of recognition, evaluation and control of hazards arising in the work environment.

For a baseline assessment or OH&S compliance we generally start by visually inspecting your facility, this helps us gain an understanding of you work procedures and environment.  We review safety data sheets, physical hazards along with your current work procedures and existing ventilation to enable us to develop a sampling strategy.

Reducing the Risk

An avoidable danger

Occupational hazards are all around.  From the obvious physical dangers of operating or working close proximity to heavy equipment, to the less obvious dangers such as working in dust laden environments.   

Once the risks have been identified they can be reduced or removed by implementing engineering controls such as mechanical handling methods or localized ventilation applications.  The risks can also be reduced by implementing a management strategy that uses procedures designed to reduce exposure or reducing times of exposure.
